This has to be the beauty tag that sums me up the best as I am a complete lip product addict. It was originally created by two of my favourite Youtubers, Amelia and Estee, and as soon as I saw their video, I knew it what be such a fun post to do!
1) FAVOURITE LIP BALM / TREATMENT
I am completely addicted to all things Burts Bees, including their moisturisers, but I digress. The product that stood out most to me was the replenishing pomegranate lip balm. I have been using it most days since my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas. It is super moisturising and sinks into the lips really well, giving you that fresh tingly feeling. For just over £3 this is a complete bargain, and I would recommend it to you all 🙂
BEST EYE-CATCHING RED
The first thing that sprung to mind was my Rimmel Apocolips in Big Bang. The Apocolips range seems to be a bit love-hate amongst the beauty community, but I absolutely love them. Provided you prep your lips properly, they are so long lasting and look so glossy and amazing. The red colour is a classic pillarbox red and makes me feel so glamorous when I wear it!
BEST LUXURY & BEST DRUGSTORE
I don’t actually have any high-end lipsticks, but I might treat myself to a MAC one for my birthday in a couple of days 🙂 My best drugstore lip products HAVE to be the Revlon Lip Butters, I wear them almost every day. My favourite shade is strawberry shortcake because it’s the perfect nude colour for my skin and it has a subtle shimmer to it.
BEST MAC LIPSTICK
I don’t own any unfortunately, but I’ve had my eye on ‘Girl About Town’ and ‘Saigon Summer’ for a while now!
THE MOST DISAPPOINTING
For £1, MUA lipsticks are great value and come in a fantastic array of colours. However, I was disappointed with them because they aren’t very long-lasting at all and wore off in a patchy and unattractive manner. Also, even though I really like the Clinique Chubby Sticks, I was disappointed with the colour pay-off. They are lovely and natural for every-day wear, but I expect slightly more pigmentation for the price that you pay!
LINER – YES OR NO?
I only ever really bother with liner if I’m going for a bold lip, because there’s nothing worse than having to re-apply lipstick and it just going all over your face. (This has happened to me countless times when I’ve been on a night out). I would also like to mention the amazing effect liner can have on transforming the shape of your lips! If I’m doing for a certain statement lip look, its great for providing some definition. P.S. The Body Shop do really good liners that aren’t overpriced!
This is such a no-brainer for me. I am OBSESSED with Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks. The colour ‘Nudist’ is the perfect nude and the formula is non-sticky and very long lasting.
This tag can’t be complete without mentioning two of my other favourite lip products. Honourable mention goes to Rimmel’s Moisture Renew Lipsticks and the Revlon Colour Burst and Matte Balms!
