I’ve been eyeing up By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar for months now, but really can’t justify spending £28 on an eyeshadow stick. After a bit of searching, I came across a similar product, Kiko’s Long Lasting Stick Shadows, so decided to give them a go!
The first thing I noticed about the shadow sticks was the amazing array of colours, there are over 30 shades to choose from, and I had a hard time deciding on which to get! They are also such good value, a fraction of the price of the By Terry shadow sticks, costing just £6.90.
A brown is always a must for me, and the colour ‘Golden Brown’ looked like the most gorgeous shimmery neutral shade. Next, I wanted to try something a bit more daring, as I feel my make-up look seems a bit standard, and I wanted to mix it up. I chose the colour ‘Emerald Green’ because I feel like it will emphasise the green colour of my eyes. The shade is matte so is definitely wearable even though it makes a statement.
Here’s a quick swatch of the two colours! I realised after I bought them that they actually look really nice together.
I decided to throw together a quick eye-look with the two colours to show you guys what the shadow sticks would look like on.
First I applied ‘Golden Brown’ all over the lid. The applicator is amazing because you literally scribble a bit onto your lid, then you can smudge it out with your fingers or a brush – it literally blends like a dream.
What I love about the texture of the product is how soft it is! This means you can apply a bit to an angled brush and use the shadow stick as a liner. I decided to try this out, and added a bit more of the ‘Emerald Green’ colour in the outer corner and crease of my eye to smoke everything out.
This was the finished look, I really hope you guys liked it. (Also excuse the bareness of the rest of my face!) Let me know in the comments if you have tried any stick shadow products, as I’d love to try more.
