The Breakfast Club

I’d heard so many good things about the Breakfast Club and drooled over countless Instagram posts of their delicious looking pancakes. I’m definitely a big breakfast kind of girl, so looking through the extensive menu was exciting and almost hypnotic.

I finally gave into the urge and headed down to give the food a go! I chose the Angel location because it’s nestled in the trendy Islington. We had lots of fun exploring the high-street and boutiquey shops before our gut-busting meal and it’s definitely a great way of working up an appetite.

Upon arrival at The Breakfast Club, we had to wait around ten minutes to be seated at a table for two (as opposed to a shared table). Apparently, queues for entry can reach around 30 minutes or so, but I don’t mind waiting if the service and quality are worth it.

After swooning over pancakes for days, I decided to go for the American pancakes, which were incredible. Accompanying my delicious food was a fragrant cup of Earl Gray Tea (always the best choice tea-wise). Next to my huge plate of food is Rob’s choice of Huevos Al Benny – poached eggs, chorizo, roast peppers, avocado, fresh chillies and spicy hollandaise on an English muffin.

I absolutely devoured my breakfast, even if Rob helped me with some of potatoes, and the waitress even complimented me on my “impressive” ability to consume a large quantity of food.

The upmarket cafe had a very chilled vibe and we relaxed our full stomachs for a while on the comfy sofa chairs. We’re both a sucker for iced tea, and sharing a refreshing glass of it really helped our food go down. (Although the smoothies also looked delicious and I’ll be grabbing one next time.)

What I can say is that the hype surrounding The Breakfast Club is real. If you’re ever feeling hungry you can pop in for some breakfast at a number of locations including: Hoxton, London Bridge, Soho and Battersea Rise. I’m heading back for round two next week with an old friend and I’m already salivating at the thought of it!
