My Biggest Style Inspirations

style inspirations

Rooting through and trying on the entire contents of my wardrobe is not an uncommon occurrence in my life. The feeling of being swamped in clothes but still not knowing what to wear can be extremely frustrating. It’s easy to get into a fashion rut, and I’ll end up dithering for hours just to wear an outfit I feel comfortable in. At times like this, I love to have a look through style blogs and icons to re-gain inspiration & get my creativity back.

I thought I’d give you guys the low-down on who I look to when it comes to fashion, and hopefully it’ll be helpful to any of you that feel challenged at dressing yourself at times (it happens to the best of us).

1) Ellie Goulding

I’ve always been a big Ellie fan. From the music, to the style to the attitude. I appreciate her athletic style as she proves you don’t necessarily need to look girlie and glam to look sexy. Her dress sense is strong, bold and tough but still has a sense of fragility. She often mixes tough monochromatic outfits with sheer panels, and I find the contrast absolutely mesmerising.

2) Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung is one of the biggest style inspirations of our time. I love the simplicity of her look and she just oozes effortless coolness. I’m a big fan of the whole grunge rough-around the edges look (but I can’t make it seem as put-together as Alexa). I’m very in awe of her to be perfectly honest.

3) Debbie Harry

This inspiration is connected to my love of grunge. Blondie are one of my favourite bands & their look is so iconic. Distressed denim, leather and punk clashing prints all appeal hugely to me. Debbie Harry’s make-up is powerful. I appreciate the daringness of pairing a bold lip with dark smoky eyeshadow. Debbie Harry’s style in the 1970s was revolutionary and fearless, and something that still influences fashion today.

I hope you guys enjoyed this fashion-related post! Comment below who inspires you fashion wise (or even a link to your favourite fashion post so next time I need inspiration I have something to read). Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and thank you as always for all your support!
