The Perfect Nude Lipstick

I’m definitely a matte-bold lip kinda gal because I love how it can add a bit of fun and warmth to the face. Up until recently, I thought more neutral shades were unflattering on me as they often wash out my complexion. Last year, 90s Kylie Jenner-esque looks dominated the world of make-up. Inspired by the influx in brown toned nude lipsticks, I took to Boots on a mission to find my perfect natural shade.

nude2I’ve been a huge fan of the Rimmel Kate Moss line for the longest time. Excluding Topshop make-up, they are my favourite drugstore lipstick brand. They’re really creamy to apply on the lips but still highly pigmented and long-lasting. It’s always a bonus when you can find great quality at a really affordable price point too.

IMG_2876My skintone is quite olive and yellow-toned so normally nude lipsticks don’t sit well with the rest of my complexion. As soon as I swatched shade 03 in store I knew it’d be a great match. Although it’s not a bright lipstick, it’s quite a velvety-matte texture that sits really well on the lips. It’s nice to have a ‘your lips but better’ colour that is low maintenance and isn’t overly glossy or drying.

Having a peruse through the other lipsticks in the Kate Moss line, I noticed there was a lighter nude shade and another for deeper skintones so I really would recommend checking them out if you see a Rimmel counter! Alternatively, you can have a snoop online by clicking here

What are you guys’ nude lipstick recommendations? As a complete newbie to the world of natural lips, I’d love to get the low-down on some other alternatives.

  1. I love a bold lipstick, however right now I am eyeing up the Collection Exclusive by Color Riche from L’Oreal; they do a collection of nudes and reds based on models, and by looking at their hair and skin tone/color as a guideline you can easily find a red and a nude that’s a perfect match!

  2. I’ve been on the hunt for my perfect nude shade but haven’t had much luck, your discovery has given me hope! Will definitely swatch a couple the next time I’m in boots! x
